900 Years old Ramanujacharya Original Body preserved in SriRangam Temple

Vaishnava philosopher and guru Ramanujacharya original body preserved inside Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam, Tiruchinarpalli since 1137 CE.
Sri Ramajunacharya was an exponent of the Sri Vaishnavism tradition within Hinduism.
Ramanuja’s thiruvarasu (sacred burial shrine) is the Ramanuja shrine (sannidhi) located inside the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple.
Sandalwood paste and saffron are used to maintain the body and no other chemicals are added.
Twice a year, a coat of camphor mixed with saffron, which produces ochre/orange tint on the preserved body and this tradition has been practiced for more than 878 years.
His body is placed behind his idol and is open for darshan to all devotees.
One can notice nails on fingers, which indicate that it is actually a human body.
His physical body is placed in the southwest corner on the fifth round within the Srirangam temple as ordered by Lord Ranganatha himself.Even many Srivaishnavas are not aware that in Srirangam, their holiest place hailed as ‘ Bhuloka Vaikuntam‘ ( Heaven on Earth) lies preserved the body of Sri Ramanuja in all its pristine state unostentatiously, without any fanfare or publicity and without using any of the chemical preservatives used for the Egyptian and Goan mummies.
The egyptian mummies are kept in sleeping position and wrapped in cloth after applying several layers of chemicals.
But Ramanujacharya original body is kept in normal sitting position and open to all for viewing.
This is the only instance where an actual human body is kept inside a hindu temple for so many years.

Ramanujacharya original body preserved in Srirangam Temple

In the year 1017 A.D., Ramanuja was born in the village of Perumbudur, about twenty-five miles west of Madras. His father was Kesava Somayaji and his mother was Kantimathi, a very pious and virtuous lady. Ramanuja’s Tamil name was Ilaya Perumal. Quite early in life, Ramanuja lost his father.
Then he came to Kancheepuram to prosecute his study of the Vedas under one Yadavaprakasha, a teacher of Advaita philosophy.
Ramanuja had re-installed Govindaraja idol in tirupati, which was initially thrown into sea by Kulotthunga Chola, a Saivaite.
He attained his Acharyan Thiruvadi (the lotus foot of his Acharya) in Lord Ranganatha temple at Srirangam and ever since, Ramanujacharya original body was mummified and preserved there.

Great India History :-Gautama Buddha Year of Birth is 1887 BCE

Indian history written by Britishers have tried to fix most of the events 1000 years later to match their idea of the world being created in 4004 BCE.
In this process, many western historians including Sir Willian Jones have tried to merge Chandra Gupta-Maurya with Chandra Gupta (they thought both are same) and this Wrong history is taught in Indian schools and colleges.

143. Kumdaka
144. Suratha
145. Sumitra

These 30 kings reigned for 1504 years (between 3138 BCE – 1634 BCE)
Last king Sumitra was killed by Mahapadma Nanda in 1634 BCE.
Chanakya was contemporary to this Mahapadma Nanda (Dhana Nanda), who placed Mahapadmanda’s protege Chandragupta, son of Mahapadma Nanda by his wife ‘Mura‘ on the throne of his father.

Vishnu Purana, Amsa IV, chapter 22 mentions :
IkshvakuNaa mayaa vaMsaha, sumitrAntO gamishyatihi
Which means that Ishvaku dynasty ended with Sumitra.
This was also mentioned in Matsya, Vayu and Brahmanda Puranas.

Vishnu Purana also mentions that He, who was called Maya Moha in his previous birth, will be born as Siddhartha to King Suddhodhana. By propagation of his teachings, many give up their traditional vedic religion to adopt new religion of Buddha and will be called as Bauddhas.
Buddha was the contemporary of Kshemajit, Bimbisara and AjataSatru, the 31st, the 32nd, and the 33rd kings of Magadha. The Buddhistic works say that Buddha was Seventy-two years old at the time of AjataSatru’s coronation. According to the Puranas AjataSatru’s coronation was in 1814 BCE.
Sisunaga dynasty kings reign during that time :
1. Sisunaga (l994 – 1954 BCE)
2. Kakavarna (1954 – 1918 BCE)
3. Kshemadharma (1918 – 1892 BCE)
4. Kshemajit (1892 – 1852 BCE)
5. Bimbisara (1852 – 1814 BCE)
6. AjataSatru (1814 – 1787 BCE)

1. Buddha’s brith – 1887 BCE.
2. Buddha’s Remunication – 1858 BCE.
3. Buddha’s Penance 1858 – 1851 BCE.
4. Buddha’s Preaching of the doctrine during 1851 – 1807 BCE)

Buddha’s total life period 80 years, (From 1887 – 1807 BCE).
Buddha or Siddhartha was born on Poornima (fullmoon day) of Visakha lunar month.
Thus Gautama Buddha’s exact birth date according to astronomical analysis would be 9th April, 1887 BCE.
He attained wisdom on 03 April 1851 BCE, which was same lunar day and also a full moon day on a Wednesday.

Also, Death of Buddha happened on same lunar day, which is Vaisakha full moon with Nakshatram as Visakha.
That was a Tuesday on 27 March 1807 BCE, which is a full moon day.

This date matches with the existence of Buddhism in the second milinnium B.C., as mentioned in Kalhana’s Rajatarangini and NepalVamsavali.
All the dates given in Bishop Bigandet’s “The Life Or Legend Of Gaudama” in the Kaudza and Eetzana Eras have been verified with the dates in Christien Era.
The dates tally accurately with 27 March 1807 BCE as the date of Nirvana of Lord Buddha.

How this Siddhartha (Gautama Buddha) is regarded as Avatar of Lord Vishnu ?

As Siddhartha was born in lineage of Lord Rama in Ikshvaku dynasty, people of his generation might have considered him to be incarnation of Rama or Vishnu.
It is commonly accepted amongst those monks that Buddha Rishi (Vishnu Avatara Buddha) was a predecessor of Gautama Buddha.
Siddhartha, who became Gautama Buddha came to the original Buddha’s birthplace to practice meditation. Gautama Buddha chose this place to attain liberation, knowing it to be saturated with immense spiritual power.

Interesting mention of Buddha is made by Lanka king Ravana in Lankavatara Sutra .
lankavatara sutram vai purva buddha anuvarnitam
smarami purvakaih buddhair jina-putra puraskritaihi
sutram etan nigadyante bhagavan api bhashatam
bhavishyatyanagate kale buddha buddha-sutas cha ye
Translation : Ravana, the king of Lanka, at first recited in the Totaka metre, then sang the following – ‘I invoke in my memory the aphorisms known as Lankavatara-sutra, compiled and propagated by the previous Buddha (Vishnu’s incarnation). The son of Jina (Lord Buddha) presented this book. Lord Buddha and his sons, who will appear in the future, as well as Bhagavan, the Vishnu incarnation, will continue to instruct all from this book.
Vaishnavas never worship the nihilist and atheist (sunyavada) Buddha or Gautama Buddha, They only worship Lord Vishnu’s ninth incarnation, Lord Buddha, with this prayer from the Srimad-Bhagavatam 10/40/22:
namo buddhaya shuddhaya daitya-danava-mohine
Translation : O Supreme Lord Buddha! I offer my obeisance unto You, Who is faultless and have appeared to delude the demoniac and atheistic class of men.
Earlier in the Srimad-Bhagavatam (Bhagavata Purana) 1/3/24, Lord Buddha’s advent is described in the following manner:
tatah kalau sampravritte
sammohaya sura-dvisham
buddho namnanjana-sutaha
kikateshu bhavishyati
Translation : Then in the beginning of Kali-yuga, the Lord will appear as Buddha, son of Anjana, in the province of Kikata (Gaya), just for the purpose of deluding those who are envious of the faithful theist.
Here, Kikata is ancient name of the place, Gaya.
Gautama Buddha came almost 1200 years after Kali Yuga started.
So, there must be the original Vishnu Avatar Buddha, who came early in Kali Yuga as son of Anjana.

But again, Bhagavata Purana was compiled during times of Gautama Buddha and the avatar of Vishnu as Buddha is debatable.
Jataka tales or stories of Buddhism mention one story where Buddha in one of his past life was trying to teach Ahimsa (nonviolence) to queens and King misunderstood his intentions as to be flirting with his wives.
King orders Buddha to be tortured until death.
After multiple such lives, where he failed to establish nonviolence through teahcings, in his last life, he attained wisdom at Bauddha Gaya and attained nirvana after preaching his ideas to his followers.
Later, his followers converted many kings and common people into their religion.

What Adi Sankaracharya (509 – 477 BCE) tried to drive away from India, was followers of Soonyavada Gautama Buddha, as it was promoting only begging during his time.
The original buddha’s history and teaching have vanished as Gautama Buddha’s religion was spread across India and adopted by many kings.
Infact, few traditional Vaishnavaites do not consider Buddha as Avatar of Vishnu.
“Matsya kurma varahascha naarasimha vamanaha ramo ramascha rama scha krishnaha kalkirevacha” is what they follow.
And in this order, Balarama is considered one of the Avatar.

Hampi Walls Saved India's Ancient Ellora Caves

Buddhist monks who prayed in India’s Ellora Caves were surrounded by hemp, as plaster covering the shrines’ painted walls and ceilings was made of a mixture of cannabis, clay and lime, a new study has revealed.
The earthen mix turned out to be a blessing, since the cannabis played a key role in preserving the World Heritage site.
According to Manager Rajdeo Singh, an archaeological chemist of the Archaeological Survey of India’s science branch (western region), and Milind M. Sardesai, who teaches botany at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, the mixture prevented the plaster from degrading for over 1,500 years.
9 Sacred Sites You Won't Believe Exist

The Ellora caves were built between the 6th and 11th centuries, A.D. in the western state of Maharashtra. They are made up of a group of 34 temples carved out of stone and are dedicated to the three main religions of India — Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.
The structure runs in a north–south direction for about 1.2 miles. At the southern end are 12 Buddhist caves, in the north are six Jain caves and in between lie 17 Brahmanical caves.
“The caves are breathtaking examples of rock-cut architecture that stands testimony to the imagination and artistry of its creators,” Singh and Sardesai wrote in the journal Current Science.
Six New Sites Gain World Heritage Status: Photos
They analyzed the clay plaster of Buddhist cave no. 12, a remarkable three-storied building.
Using a scanning electron microscope, infrared spectroscopy and stereomicroscopic studies, the researchers were able to isolate specimens of cannabis from the clay plaster.
The remains of cannabis, popularly known as ganja or bhang in India, suggest that it was used in the clay and lime mixture mainly as an insulating agent and to provide added strength to the plaster.
Mummified Monk Sits Inside Ancient Buddha Statue
“The cannabis fiber appears to have a better quality and durability than other fibers. Moreover, the cannabis’ gum and sticky properties might have helped clay and lime to form a firm binder,” Sardesai told Discovery News.
Called hempcrete, the concrete-like substance used for plastering provided “a healthy, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing living environment to the Buddhist monks to stay,” the researchers said.
“As the hemp plaster has the ability to store heat, is fire-resistant and absorbs about 90 percent of airborne sound, a peaceful living environment for the monks has been created at Ellora Caves,” they added.
Studies in Europe have estimated that hempcrete can last 600–800 years. In the Ellora caves the life span doubled despite damaging environmental factors, such as a growing humidity inside the caves during rainy seasons.
Oldest Buddha Shrine Dates Birth to 6th Century B.C.
“Ellora has proved that only 10 percent of cannabis mixed with clay or lime in the plaster could last for over 1,500 years,” Singh told The Times of India.
In contrast, hemp wasn’t used in the neighboring Ajanta, another World Heritage site consisting of about 30 rock-cut Buddhist structures dating back to the 2nd century BC.
There, “rampant insect activity has damaged at least 25 percent of the paintings,” Singh said.
According to the researchers, properties of hemp fibers such as the ability to regulate humidity inside the cave, pest resistance, fire-retardant, non-toxicity, high vapor permeability, hygroscopic properties, were known to the inhabitants of Ellora in the 6th century AD.
“Unfortunately in India cannabis has gained a bad name because of its narcotic properties. But the ancient artists knew its good sides,” Sardesai said.

Social Media Users Concerned Over J&J Talc Powder After Verdict

Johnson & Johnson Talc FBN

Consumers expressed concern on social media about a talc-based baby powder made by Johnson & Johnson on Wednesday after a Missouri jury ordered the company to pay $72 million in damages to the family of a woman who said her death from cancer was linked to use of the product.
"Johnson & Johnson" was a trending term on Twitter on Wednesday morning. Social sentiment regarding the company declined on Wednesday to its lowest levels in the past year, according to a Thomson Reuters social media sentiment analysis index.
J&J shares were down 37 cents at $103.71 in early afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
In a verdict announced late on Monday night, jurors in the circuit court of St. Louis awarded the family of Jacqueline Fox $10 million of actual damages and $62 million of punitive damages, according to the family's lawyers and court records.

On Twitter, several users interpreted the verdict to mean there was a causal link between the talc used in J&J's products and ovarian cancer, an argument made during the trial by the family's lawyers.

Jenn (@JennLA82) tweeted on Wednesday, "So baby powder caused ovarian cancer & now Johnson & Johnson must pay 72 million. Congrats to those tireless lawyers. Also...scary."

On Tuesday, a Johnson & Johnson spokeswoman, Carol Goodrich, said the company believes the safety of cosmetic talc is supported by decades of scientific evidence.

Some Twitter users said they would stop using the product.
DayZ (@D_Acevedo213) tweeted: "If talc is dangerous why is it one of your main ingredients?! @JNJNews I'm not using your baby powder in my son anymore."
Not all were alarmed. Shivam M (@Observer68), tweeted: "After Johnson and Johnson's, I'm waiting for all the women who eat pounds of lipsticks every year, to sue the respective cosmetics brands."
Fox, who lived in Birmingham, Alabama, claimed she used the company's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower for feminine hygiene for more than 35 years before being diagnosed three years ago with ovarian cancer. She died in October at age 62.
A J&J spokesman did not respond immediately to a request for comment on Wednesday.
